What Is The Adversary About?
The premise of The Adversary without spoilers.
The film adapts Emmanuel Carrère’s 2000 book, about the true story of Jean‑Claude Romand. It follows Jean‑Marc Faure (Vincent Auteuil), who pretends to be a medical doctor, a plot follows Romand’s life and Carrère’s account closer than Laurent Cantet’s 2001 adaptation L’Emploi du Temps. The picture was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2002.
