The Wizard of Oz 1982

In Kansas, a young girl named Dorothy Gale lives on a farm with Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and her dog Toto. One day, while the adults are away, a tornado lifts their house into the air and carries it to the magical land of Oz. He offers to grant their deepest wishes, but only if they first defeat the Wicked Witch of the West. Back at the Witch’s fortress, the Wicked Witch of the West learns of their arrival through her crystal ball and makes a series of frightful attempts to stop them. She dispatches wolves that the Tin Woodman fends off, then sends a flock of crows that transform into a monstrous giant crow, only to be foiled by the Scarecrow’s cunning. Her next weapon is an army of Winged Monkeys, who manage to capture the travelers but spare Dorothy, protected by the North Witch’s mark. In a final bid for Dorothy’s slippers, the Witch tries to steal them; during the struggle, a splash of water on her precipitates a dramatic shrinking and she vanishes forever.

With the Witch defeated, the Winkies are freed from oppression, and the friends return to the Emerald City to learn the truth about the Wizard. The revelation is sobering: the Wizard is not a formidable sorcerer at all but a humbug — a former circus magician whose hot-air balloon brought him to Oz by accident. He admits that Dorothy and her friends already possess what they sought, and while he offers to escort Dorothy home by balloon, a mishap prevents the trip at that moment. Still, the group gains a sense of closure as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, arrives to set things straight. She explains that Dorothy has always had the power to return home with the ruby slippers. Empowered by this knowledge, Dorothy says goodbye to her friends, clicks the heels of the slippers three times, and, with Toto by her side, is suddenly transported back to Kansas, where she is joyfully reunited with Aunt Em and Uncle Henry.
