In the Flower Capital, the realm is ruled by the cruel Qu Ying, an evil queen who has grown to hate men after a betrayal by her former ally, High Priest Wei Liao. In this world, all men are enslaved to women, and a looming prophecy speaks of the Star of Rex finding and wielding a mythic sword to overthrow the queen and restore a fragile balance between the sexes.
At the outset, General Lone, a master swordsman, makes it his mission to topple the regime. He enlists Peachy to steal an engraved stone from the queen’s palace. Peachy succeeds, but the queen’s guards and spies are quick on the chase. Before the stone can be recaptured, it falls into the hands of two street performers, Charcoal Head and Blockhead, who earn their living in a lively troupe led by their adoptive father, Blackwood Blackwood.
The pair set out to deliver the stone to [General Lone], hoping it will lead to riches. Yet they soon discover the stone is actually a map, and their dreams of easy wealth begin to yield to a larger quest. The map points toward the legendary sword, and the revelation that one of Charcoal Head or Blockhead may be the Star of Rex adds a layer of personal destiny to their journey.
As the quartet travels, they encounter two formidable women, Spring and Blue Bird, each pursuing them for different reasons. Rather than clash, the four decide to band together, recognizing that their fates are intertwined with the map and the prophecy. The path ahead reveals that the Star of Rex could be among them, a discovery that heightens the stakes and tests loyalties.
Their pursuit leads them through dangerous terrain and enigmatic landscapes, all while the truth about the sword and the Star of Rex slowly comes into focus. Standing between them and the prize is the legendary Lord of Armour Lord of Armour, a formidable gatekeeper who guards the route to the weapon. His challenge adds a weighty, awe-inspiring barrier that the travelers must face if they hope to reach the sword.
Meanwhile, the queen mobilizes her forces, marshaling a powerful army and tapping into potent magic in a bid to crush any resistance. The tension intensifies as the impending final battle looms, promising a climactic showdown that will decide not only the fate of the Flower Capital but the delicate balance between the genders that the prophecy seeks to restore.
Throughout their journey, the four young would-be heroes confront questions of power, trust, and identity. The engraved stone–map, the looming sword, and the prophecy all intertwine, pushing them toward a decision that could redefine their world. As the queen’s troops close in and the battlefield hardens, the characters’ choices will determine whether the prophecy is fulfilled or shattered, and whether true balance can ever be achieved in a realm built on centuries of unequal power.
