La Garza (the Heron, in Spanish) runs the brothel El Pez que Fuma with iron certainty, keeping a tight grip on the workers while letting her lovers believe they’re steering the place. She maintains a careful balance, granting each man a job, a little status, and moments of pleasure—enough to keep the romance sizzling and the operation humming.

Three men vie for the love of La Garza and for influence over the Pez que Fuma: Tobias, who is supplanted by Dimas [Miguelangel Landa], who in turn is pushed out by Jairo [Orlando Urdaneta]. The pattern is simple but harsh: the owner toys with loyalty by handing out administrative roles and opportunities, drawing the men deeper into the game while she remains the real center of power.

Tobias arrives at the brothel with no money, seeking help, and is taken in by La Garza. She gives him a place to stay and a job within the business, and once inside, he quickly wins the confidence of the staff and the other lovers, shaping his own fate within the fragile hierarchy she has built.

Yet the cycle repeats as new ambitions rise and fall. Dimas, the former lover, cannot tolerate defeat and the loss of his place. His desperation pushes him toward drastic actions, testing and fracturing the fragile alliances that keep the Pez que Fuma afloat. He makes a bold, dangerous move that shocks everyone who believed the balance would hold.

When the dust settles, La Garza is gone, and Dimas finds himself back behind bars. In the resulting power vacuum, Jairo takes control of the brothel, promoting a young prostitute to a prominent role and steering the establishment with a new, unsettled hand. The story lingers on the shifting dynamics, the price of desire, and the way power can slip through even the most carefully managed hands.
