Juan Gutiérrez, 44, an out‑of‑work electrician, leaves his family for Madrid, believing the city offers better jobs. He soon discovers reality is harsher, refusing low‑skill tasks like cleaning windshields or cabarets and insisting on true electrician work. He befriends Andy, a Caribbean migrant with bulletproof optimism, and together they scrape by, evade immigration, and become known as “Gallego” and “Sudaca.”
