Spoilers ahead
The series provides a detailed look into the high-pressure environment of the overnight shift at San Antonio Memorial Hospital, where the medical staff must balance life-saving procedures with their own complex personal demons. Central to the narrative are three doctors with deep ties to the U.S. military. Among them is Dr. TC Callahan, a former Army doctor struggling with PTSD-type symptoms after witnessing the traumatic death of his brother on the battlefield. Because of his volatility, TC frequently clashes with the hospital’s administration, specifically the Chief of Surgery, Scott Clemmens, and the administrator, Michael Ragosa. TC’s friction is most evident with Dr. Jordan Alexander, his ex-girlfriend and the newly appointed head of the night shift.
