This film is structured as an anthology of horror shorts tied together by a frame narrative and the concept of found footage.
The story begins with Sam and Marie, who discover a gruesome, bloody mess inside their small theatrical playhouse. Parallel to this, Dr. Martin Callahan and his student Nicole investigate the theory that night terrors are caused by time dilation during REM sleep, allowing transdimensional entities to become visible. Using a specialized high-speed camera and a hired cameraman, they attempt to capture these beings, but the experiment goes wrong. An entity attacks Martin, and the group eventually becomes trapped in a time dilation bubble where the outside world is frozen. In a tragic turn, their cameraman is ripped in half between two dimensions and dies.
