What Is The Cowboys Are Black About?
The premise of The Cowboys Are Black without spoilers.
Friends—a taxi driver, mechanics and masons—spend weekends reenacting a Western on mopeds, dressed as Zazous and using supermarket‑bought guns loaded with blanks. They idolize Edward G. Robinson and Glenn Ford, while a heroine sells wares at the Galerie du Niger. Inspired by Mustapha Alassane’s first African Western, Serge‑Henri Moati frames their play as a meditation on the thin line between film and reality, fiction and the Wild West.
