What Is The Case of the Black Cat About?

Lawyer Perry Mason is called to the Laxter mansion at night to amend a will and keep granddaughter Wilma from marrying a suspected fortune‑hunter. After patriarch Peter Laxter perishes in a mysterious fire, his grandsons inherit the estate on the condition that caretaker Schuster and his cat Clinker remain. When cat‑hating Sam threatens Clinker, Mason discovers the death was suspicious, the family’s diamonds are missing, and a series of murders implicate Doug. Mason’s investigation yields a surprise witness that turns the trial in his favor.
