On the rugged coastline of Massachusetts, a spirited young boy named Jimmy Warren grows restless with the unfairness of modern life after his father scolds him about school grades. He and Kathy Mannering explore a derelict ship resting on the shore, where they uncover a mysterious brass jar. In a smoky wish of longing for the past, Jimmy hopes to escape to a different era, a world of creaking timbers and salt air. He gazes out toward the sea and whispers his desire to be transported to the old days, to a pirate world.
