The Big Bang 1987

In 1995, World War III erupts by accident when a hitman uses a miniature nuclear device, sparking a cascading series of retaliations that push the world toward annihilation. The blast is misread as terrorism by Italy, which destroys Libya; Israel is subsequently wiped out. Africa retaliates by bombing Germany, which retaliates by striking France; Luxembourg retaliates against England; and Sweden destroys itself. The cycle continues as the Russians decide to liquidate the Americans, who respond with their own nuclear fleet, leaving only two continents on the edge of World War IV. In the north, the two powers merge into a single superstate, the USSSR, while in the south, all of womankind retreats to a secluded realm called Vaginia. As both sides push the envelope, they edge closer to weapons capable of destroying the entire universe.

To avert catastrophe, the Council of the Universe appoints Fred Hero Luis Rego, a retired superhero turned garbageman, to utilize diplomacy and cool the rising tensions. He is entrusted with a powerful light bulb that supposedly makes him invincible. Fred begins his mission with the USSSR leadership, hoping to persuade the Comrade-in-Chief Marshall Efron to dismantle the bombs. The Comrade-in-Chief delivers a blunt history lesson, describing how men lost their power after the war while the women resurfaced from underground and began rebuilding. He intends to destroy Vaginia with a weapon nicknamed The Big One, a missile whose design is shockingly phallic in nature. During this tense exchange, Fred unexpectedly meets the nation’s female emblem, Liberty Régine Teyssot, and they quickly fall for each other. When Fred escapes the Comrade-in-Chief’s lair with Liberty, she learns that he is married, and she ultimately decides to return to the Comrade-in-Chief rather than pursue a forbidden romance.

Fred’s next stop is Vaginia, where he encounters Una [Alice Playten], the multi-breasted leader who reveals that Vaginia possesses a formidable weapon called Big Mama—a spherical device with a crude feminine motif that is designed to combine with The Big One and threaten the universe. Fred makes another effort to broker peace with Una, but she demands a sexual alliance in exchange for peace. Fred, torn between his commitment to Liberty and his own boundaries, fails to capitulate to Una’s demand and finds himself increasingly entangled in the escalating conflict, his actions unintentionally helping push the Fourth World War forward.

As the war rages, Fred resolves to win Liberty back and save the universe. Liberty is taken aboard The Big One, and Fred races to her rescue, carrying her to a tropical island where they hope to find safety while the final battle unfolds. The two missiles circle overhead as both nations’ forces collide in a climactic confrontation. In a moment of cosmic significance, The Big One and Big Mama meet and trigger a catastrophic event that destroys the universe. God, depicted as an observer, merely notes the moment and remains detached. Fred and Liberty ultimately arrive in Heaven and begin a new life together on a solitary cloud, free to start anew.
