Radhe Mohan is a brash college student who leads the Student Union and channels a volatile temper into the world around him. He shares his life with his older brother, Ajay, a magistrate, and their clashes are frequent, though one person seems to truly understand him: his sister-in-law Gayatri. The film follows his rough edges, the discipline of his family, and the way a single encounter can begin to soften a life built on toughness.

Radhe’s power and popularity carry him through a victory in the Student Union election, but the celebrations erupt into a confrontation that exposes the fragility beneath his bravado. A fateful meeting with Nirjara Bharadwaj, a timid Brahmin girl, becomes the turning point. He steps in to help her in small moments, and she seems to respond with a cautious warmth that hints at a growing bond. When he summons the courage to propose, his light-hearted remark about fighting her father if he objects lands with a strange mix of danger and charm. He asks, and she replies with a quiet affirmation that feels like a hidden nod to a future they might share. > “yes” she says, though the meaning behind those words is not clear to him in that moment.

Radhe’s affection faces a test as he and his friends intimidate Nirjara’s fiancé, Rameshwar. The next day, he brings Nirjara a gift, only to hear that she does not love him and that he is little more than a goon in her eyes. The hurt is sharp, and he retreats into a quieter posture, trying to talk to her, only to be met with distance.

His friends push him to abandon violence to win Nirjara’s heart, but a moment of accountability arrives when he defends a friend by roughing up a goon. Nirjara arrives at that tense scene just in time to witness a change in him: Radhe steps back from the brink, allowing the aggressor to escape, and that act reshapes how Nirjara sees him. In the wake of this, her sister Mamata, who is in desperate need of money, nears danger when she is nearly lured into prostitution in a brothel under the promise of a loan. Nirjara’s family’s troubles run deeper than romance, and Radhe, unaware that Mamata is Nirjara’s sister, follows the same path to the brothel to confront the man who harassed a woman and to shield Mamata from trouble. He fights off a police raid to keep Mamata safe, and learns more about the precarious life the women around him face.

Mamata reveals that her husband, Aatmaram, has kicked her out and demands money for custody of their son. The stakes are suddenly personal, and Radhe steps in again, beating Aatmaram to force him to take Mamata back and to stop harassing her. The act is seen by Rameshwar, who recognizes Radhe’s deeper courage and tells Nirjara that he is a good, selfless man who truly loves her, though Nirjara remains unaware of that conversation.

Radhe’s pursuit reaches a startling turn when he abducts Nirjara, hoping to win her over by forcing her to listen to him express his feelings. She is initially overwhelmed, but her fear gives way to a slow, reluctant affection that blooms into love as their relationship grows in the shadow of their obstacles.

A violent return to old enemies changes everything. The brothel owner and his goons strike back, seeking revenge for Radhe’s efforts to shut down their business. The attack is brutal, and Radhe is knocked against a train buffer, suffering brain damage and losing much of his hair in the process. His family commits him to a religious institution for mental patients, and Nirjara—and their friends—pray for his safety. The doctors declare that recovery is unlikely, and Radhe is sent to an ashram where conditions are harsher still. He becomes thin, wears torn clothes, and is chained with other patients, his mind flickering between lucidity and confusion.

Radhe’s mental state briefly returns, but the wardens do not understand him, and his attempt to escape results in further injuries. Nirjara visits the place and finds him in a pitiful state; when he wakes, he calls out her name, but she cannot hear him, and she leaves with tears in her eyes. The family counsel asks Nirjara to forget him and marry Rameshwar, who remains a steady alternative. On the day Nirjara’s wedding to Rameshwar is scheduled, Radhe somehow escapes and reaches her home, only to discover that Nirjara has taken her own life. devastated, he limps away, with his friends and family pursuing him in grief but unable to comfort him. The wardens return and take him back to the institution. The film closes with Radhe stepping into a van, a broken man whose life has shifted irreversibly because he lost the one person who understood him best.
