Viren Oberoi [Abhay Deol] and Aditi Sahani [Ayesha Takia] are introduced by their families, but Viren refuses to marry because he wants to wed his girlfriend of three years, Karen. This decision creates tension between the families, as Aditi’s Aunt [Rati Agnihotri] feels insulted. Yet, a chance encounter soon brings them together in a way that feels effortless, and their bond starts to form quickly. Viren invites Aditi to accompany him to Goa, hoping she can help him determine whether Karen’s feelings for him run deep enough to justify a wedding.

In Goa, the two’s connection deepens, and Karen notices the growing closeness between them. Viren realizes that his feelings have evolved into love for Aditi, even as preparations for his marriage to Karen move forward. The story underscores the clash between tradition and desire, highlighting the religious and cultural tensions that made his union with Karen, who is Christian, complicated from the start. Despite these pressures, Viren is determined to marry Aditi, who has also fallen in love with him. Yet Aditi resists, out of respect for her aunt and uncle who have arranged her engagement to Mahesh, her on-and-off boyfriend.

After several conversations, Viren withdraws from the chase, telling the truth to Karen and trying to move on, though he remains miserable. On the day of Aditi’s engagement, Karen approaches her and reveals Viren’s unhappiness. A cousin overhears their conversation and pushes Aditi to reconsider her own path, convincing her to elope with Viren. The lovers act on the decision, and after returning to their families, they apologize and are eventually accepted by all.
