Tammy, Denise Richards is at cheerleader practice when her new boyfriend Michael, Paul Walker, walks in from football practice to observe. He soon crosses paths with Byron, Theo Forsett, Tammy’s gay friend who openly approves of Michael as her new partner. Just after this moment of relative happiness, Tammy’s violent and jealous ex-boyfriend Billy, George Pilgrim, arrives with his gang and begins harassing Michael; a tense fight erupts between them. The police arrive to break up the brawl and take Billy into custody, but Tammy, overwhelmed by the chaotic turn of events, breaks down and runs away in tears, trying to process what just happened.

The scene then cuts to a shadowy warehouse where a Tyrannosaurus rex figure sits in the darkness. Two people, Dr. Wachenstein, Terry Kiser, and his assistant Helga, Ellen Dubin, step into the light as the robotic dino comes alive and moves under careful control from a nearby room. The Doctor—clever and ruthless—absorbs the robot’s sheer strength and unveils his unsettling plan: to implant a living human brain into the machine, granting it consciousness, mobility, and what he calls “immortality.”

That night, Michael discreetly sneaks out to see Tammy again, hoping for a moment of connection. Their reunion is abruptly interrupted when Billy and his thugs appear and pursue Michael through dim streets and into the wild animal park, where lions and jaguars roam. The pursuit ends badly for Michael, who is knocked unconscious and left in a comatose state after a brutal mauling by a lion. He is rushed to a hospital, where an intoxicated uncle sits by his side, half-watching and half-distracted as the family responds to the crisis.

In a cold, calculated move, Dr. Wachenstein and Helga declare Michael dead, a ruse designed to slide the brain transfer into motion. They implant Michael’s living brain into the robotic Tyrannosaurus rex, a transformation that instantly shifts the balance of power. Michael—now fused with the machine—escapes and begins to exact vengeance on the high school tormentors who once taunted him. His path intersects once more with Tammy, and the two are joyfully reunited in the wake of this extraordinary and terrifying turn of events. Tammy immediately understands that the towering, fearsome creature before her is really Michael, now inhabiting a new form, and she resolves to find a more human body for him, a quest driven by love and hope rather than fear.

Dr. Wachenstein refuses to surrender his monstrous creation and chases it across town, leading to a high-stakes pursuit that ends with Michael turning the tables and killing the doctor. In the ensuing chaos, police officers fire and manage to destroy the mechanical dinosaur, bringing a violent chapter to a dramatic close.

Tammy, determined to reclaim what she and Michael have, manages to recover Michael’s brain. She brings it home and connects it to her computer, speakers, and video camera, a temporary setup that holds promise until a more suitable body can be found. Through this improvised system, Michael can speak and see again, allowing him to glimpse Tammy as she performs a striptease. The intimate moment, both hopeful and unsettling, causes the brain hookups to spark, signaling that their bond—and their struggle—will continue to echo long after the spectacular clash between flesh and machine.
