Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (1968): Cast

In Manhattan’s Central Park, filmmaker William Greaves directs a crew shooting a series of screen‑test pairings. One exchange pits a man demanding answers against a woman questioning his sexuality, while a second camera captures Greaves and his crew. The film repeatedly cuts to the crew’s meta‑discussion of language, the act of filming, and the notion of “natural” dialogue, punctuated by random interruptions—a woman riding a horse past the set and a chatty homeless veteran who sleeps in the park. The result is an exploration of how a movie is made and what reality a camera can reveal.
