What Is Summer About?
The premise of Summer without spoilers.
It's a sweltering summer day. A father captures a moment with his child as ice cream melts in the heat. Suddenly, a man’s attention is arrested. Inspired by a photograph by Juan Medina taken in 2006, director Ronny Trocker animates a scene where time freezes. A Black man rests wearily on the beach, seemingly unnoticed by those around him. The film explores a contemporary situation mirroring a past event, frozen in a timeless tableau.
