What Is Starmania About?
The premise of Starmania without spoilers.
Starmania is a 1979 cyber‑punk rock opera set in a near‑future where most nations have united as “The Occident.” CEO Zéro Janvier runs for president, promising to crush the terrorist Black Stars led by Johnny Rockfort, and secretly turns their broker Sadia into an informant while courting fading film star Stella Spotlight. Johnny plots to abduct TV idol Cristal but ends up falling for her. Meanwhile waitress Marie‑Jeanne and her Bowie‑obsessed friend Ziggy dream of appearing on Cristal’s music show, STARMANIA, weaving love, rebellion, terrorism and the fight for personal destiny.
