Picking up from where they left off, Red and his crew are drawn into a tempting offer from Harry, a wealthy benefactor who promises a hefty payout to complete a mysterious quest. Red declines, wary that any tie to the supernatural could invite trouble for him and those around him. Yet when Red’s Lola suffers a stroke, his resolve wavers and he reluctantly agrees to take on the mission in the name of family.

The quest centers on finding the missing piece of an agimat, a mystical amulet said to heal, shield its owner from harm, and even defy death. The stakes feel personal as Red steps into a danger he barely understands, and his friends begin to grasp that this is more than a simple adventure.

Appearing as reluctant allies, Thor, Buboy, Jigger, and Ponce soon realize they’re in over their heads. They receive a warning from the Taga-Pagbantay, a mystical guardian who is half-human, half-giant, who warns them that Red has joined a perilous quest and will need his friends to help him through it.

Their journey begins at an old ancestral house that reveals itself as a portal to the world of the dead and other creatures of the unknown. On the threshold, they meet a Tikbalang, a towering creature that is part horse, part human, followed by fearsome Aswangs and Tiyanaks, flesh-eating beings that test their courage at every turn. In a river, mermaids guide them toward the Lugar ng mga Alon (Land of the Waves), where Red and Thor confront their own doppelgangers and finally secure the missing piece of the agimat. Through these trials, the bond between Red and Thor strengthens even as their companions on the surface press forward in the living world.

Back in the land of the living, Jigger, Ponce, and Buboy find their way back to the ordinary world as Red and Thor press deeper into the surreal landscape. With the missing piece in hand, the team races toward the final test that awaits them: a deadly game of chase with the dead. Victory hinges on saving the last card, the Ace of Diamonds, a moment that could bind Red to the same fate that haunts the astral realm.

The last leg of their journey brings them to a time-bending decision. They must deliver the agimat to the Babaylan, the Witch Doctor, and ensure she reaches a state of eternal peace. In this climactic moment, the group travels back in time to place the amulet in her care, offering closure and a new equilibrium to the world they’ve traversed. The tale leaves Red and his friends forever changed, their choices echoing beyond the confines of the mortal world and into the memories of those who survived the perilous quest.
