Space Monster Wangmagwi 1967

Oh Jeong-hwan, [Nam Koong-won], is a South Korean air force pilot whose wedding to his fiancée, Ahn-hee, [Kim Hea-kyung], is set for the next day. They’re excited to start their life together, but a looming emergency call pulls him back to the base, something the others fear may be tied to an incoming typhoon.

Meanwhile, a glowing spaceship approaches Earth. Onboard, aliens from the Gamma star reveal their plan to invade and begin by unleashing a monster on South Korea. The creature’s initial size is human-like, but Earth’s lighter gravity lets it grow into a colossal threat as it moves toward Seoul.

As the city prepares for evacuation, Ahn-hee and her mother choose to press ahead with the wedding, delaying only briefly before the monster arrives and abducts Ahn-hee. The air force orders a confrontation in the streets, but the rampaging monster smashes through neighborhoods and leaves widespread destruction in its wake.

In the chaos, the monster targets a homeless boy nicknamed Squirrel who had earlier looted Ahn-hee’s home. Squirrel climbs the creature, repeatedly stabs its inner-ear, and even urinates on its head in a desperate bid to slow it down. The monster, undeterred, ultimately seizes him, and the city’s mood darkens with fear.

Facing mounting losses, the air force shifts strategy from direct combat to drawing the monster away from populated areas. Oh Jeong-hwan’s jet is destroyed in the pursuit, and he ejects, managing to rescue Ahn-hee and Squirrel as he parachutes to the ground. A jet fighter crashes into the monster, marking a pivotal turning point in the chase.

Recognizing the humans’ persistence and danger, the alien invaders decide Earth is not worth conquering through force alone and detonate an explosive attached to the monster, ending the threat and bringing the rampage to a close.
