Angela Christina Milian loves Christmas more than anything, but her family doesn’t share her enthusiasm for the holiday. When a fragile sense of exhaustion pushes her toward the brink, a mysterious snowglobe arrives in the mail, offering a shimmering invitation to something warmer and more magical. Winding up the globe before bed, she discovers a miniature world where Christmas is the lifeblood of kind, childlike inhabitants. In this other realm there is a small forest at the village’s edge and a winding path that seems to lead back to her own world, allowing Angela to return whenever she winds the globe again.

Over a long series of visits, Angela becomes acquainted with the inhabitants and the rules of this dreamlike place. The world feels soothing at first, a place where cheer and kindness rule the day, and Angela begins to view it as a respite from real-life tensions. As she moves between two realities, the secret presence of a snowglobe resident, Douglas Holiday, follows her into the daylight world and quietly introduces himself to her family, a clash that leaves her relatives perplexed and increasingly suspicious. The atmosphere grows tense as Angela’s dual existence threatens to blur the line between what’s real and what’s imagined, even as Douglas remains earnest and endlessly curious about everything he sees.

Back home, Angela asks her neighbor Eddie, Josh Cooke to help with the situation by looking after Douglas during the day while she works. Eddie is patient and good-natured, but he also notices how Douglas’ naïveté and blunt frankness clash with everyday city life. He tolerates the oddities for Angela’s sake, all while trying to keep peace in what’s already a fragile household. The next day, a startling twist emerges: when Angela returns to her apartment, she discovers not only Douglas but also Marie, a snowy-globe friend who has stepped out of the scene into their world. Marie, portrayed by Kailin See, is a companion from the globe who shows up with an inevitable mix of wonder and confusion, and Angela realizes she must explain to both visitors that their home is inside the globe and that they still belong there.

Trying to act as a bridge between two lives, Angela struggles to explain to Douglas and Marie that they need to return to the globe before they become permanently stranded in her world. She gestures toward the globe and presses its music box in a desperate bid to send them back, but a twist of fate leaves her trapped inside the tiny universe she thought she could control. The windup mechanism shatters on impact, and Angela finds herself inside the miniature landscape with no easy return. A new snow globe appears, and this one reshapes the terms of the journey. In this refreshed design, Angela discovers that her own house has taken a place of honor inside the globe, and she returns to her apartment to find Eddie waiting with relief and a renewed sense of connection. The repaired globe brings a new sense of balance: Douglas and Marie can also find their way back to their world when Eddie carefully inserts the new ball clock into the refurbished globe, bridging the two realities with care and patience. The story closes on a note of quiet wonder, exploring how holiday magic can illuminate family life without erasing the everyday challenges that come with it, and showing how love, responsibility, and a little bit of whimsy can coexist across two very different worlds.
