The film opens with a captivating storybook introduction, weaving the tale of a noble King and Queen, portrayed by Hadley Fraser and Lorena Andrea, who embark on a journey during a fierce blizzard. During this tumultuous time, the Queen gives birth to a daughter, whom they affectionately name Snow White, signifying her birth amidst the stormy weather. As Snow White, first played by Emilia Faucher, matures, she becomes endeared to the people of the kingdom, and joyous celebrations abound as they sing about the good things that grow in their lives.

Tragically, the Good Queen’s health declines, leading to her untimely death. The King, in a bid to fill the void, remarries a breathtaking woman, the Evil Queen, played by Gal Gadot, who possesses sinister magical abilities. Once she secures her position as Queen, her true, malevolent nature emerges. Misled by the Evil Queen about a fabricated threat, the King embarks on a crusade to the south, bidding farewell to Snow White, but unfortunately, he never returns. With the King’s absence, the Evil Queen exercises her brutal reign over the kingdom, conscripting the farmers and merchants into her loyal guard, driven by her obsession to be proclaimed “the fairest of them all,” as affirmed by her enchanted Magic Mirror (voiced by Patrick Page).

To shield her from the Evil Queen’s wrath, Snow White, now portrayed by Rachel Zegler, is hidden away and compelled to labor as a scullery maid. As the kingdom plunges into despair, the once-celebratory mood is overshadowed by oppressive overtaxation, draining the hope from its people.

Amidst this darkness, a daring bandit named Jonathan (Andrew Burnap) breaks into the castle, seeking food to survive. Unfortunately, he is caught by the Evil Queen and faces severe punishment, being tied to the castle gates as a public example. In an act of courage and compassion, Snow White attempts to appeal to the Evil Queen’s better nature, beseeching her to recognize the suffering of their subjects. However, her words resonate only as echoes in the Evil Queen’s heart, leading Snow White to realize that change is desperately needed. On her journey to make a difference, she bravely aids Jonathan, helping him escape with a handful of bread.

As the Evil Queen learns from her Magic Mirror that Snow White is the fairest in all the land, she becomes increasingly threatened and devious. She commands the Huntsman (Ansu Kabia) to assassinate Snow White, demanding that he present her heart as proof. In a twist of fate, the Huntsman finds Snow White amidst the apple orchards but, when faced with the grim task, he falters and instead urges her to flee into the forbidden forest.

Lost yet resilient, Snow White navigates through ominous enchanted trees until she is rescued by friendly woodland creatures. They lead her to a quaint cottage, where she falls into a peaceful slumber on one of the cozy beds. Upon returning home from their arduous day in the mines, the Seven Dwarfs – Doc (Jeremy Swift), Grumpy (Martin Klebba), Happy (George Salazar), Sneezy (Jason Kravits), Bashful (Titus Burgess), Sleepy (Andy Grotelueschen), and Dopey (Andrew Barth Feldman) – discover her there. Initially mistaking her for a bandit, they flee in terror until Dopey unintentionally gets locked in the room, where he soon realizes her kind nature. After Snow White reveals her identity, they take her in, vowing to protect her from the Evil Queen’s tyranny.

The Evil Queen grows increasingly vengeful as the Magic Mirror confirms Snow White’s survival. Unleashing her wrath, she has the Huntsman imprisoned and savors her villainous exploits in a chilling song, “All is Fair.” During a lighthearted meal, Snow White and the Dwarfs foster a familial bond filled with laughter and camaraderie, which culminates in Dopey finding his voice in a whimsical tune, “Whistle While You Work.”

In a serendipitous encounter, Snow White crosses paths with Jonathan once more and learns about his band of loyal followers, all hoping to avenge the kingdom’s fallen glory. Their bond solidifies, despite initial hesitations from both, as Jonathan proves his bravery by protecting her from the Evil Queen’s guards during a tense raid. Unfortunately, as they uncover the sincerity of their feelings for each other, Jonathan is captured, leaving Snow White to face the Evil Queen’s vengeful intentions alone.

In her relentless pursuit of dominion, the Evil Queen disguises herself as an elderly woman to deceive Snow White. She tricks her into biting into a poisoned apple, leading the young princess into an enchanted state known as Sleeping Death. Heartbroken, the Dwarfs discover her lifeless form and lay her on a rock in the forest, mourning their beloved friend.

However, in the dungeon, the Huntsman guides Jonathan, leading him to break free as he realizes the depth of his feelings for Snow White. Upon returning to the forest, Jonathan kisses Snow White, breaking the evil spell and awakening her, much to the ecstasy of her loyal Dwarfs. Revitalized and newly empowered, Snow White leads the Dwarfs and bandits in a quest to reclaim the kingdom from the Evil Queen, affirming her leadership with resolve as she rallies the kingdom’s former guard against their oppressor.

As tensions mount, the Evil Queen attempts to dispatch Snow White, commanding her guards to execute her. Yet, recalling their past and the goodness within them, the guards turn against her, enabling Snow White and her allies to confront the witch. In a climactic showdown, the Evil Queen’s rage culminates in the shattering of her Magic Mirror, which ultimately consumes her into its depths.

With the defeat of the Evil Queen, the kingdom gradually returns to its former glory as prosperity blooms anew, accentuated by the joyous melodies of “Good Things Grow Reprise.” In a heartfelt conclusion, Snow White marries Jonathan, embracing her destiny as the benevolent ruler of the realm. As the story comes full circle, it is revealed that Dopey has been narrating this enchanting tale, ensuring that the legacy of Snow White’s bravery and love is retold for generations to come.
