Penny Slot, Rena Riffel is a Las Vegas stripper with big dreams of becoming a professional dancer. She leaves the glitz of the casino lights behind to chase a shot at Stardancer in Los Angeles, hitchhiking along the way to the city of her ambitions. Her journey takes an unlucky turn when a thief robs her of her suitcase, leaving her stranded and more determined than ever to reach the stage that could change everything.
On the road, Penny witnesses a brutal crime—a prostitute murders a pimp. In a tense moment of self-defense, Penny kills the prostitute. To dodge suspicion, she adopts the alias Helga and presses on toward Los Angeles, her resolve hardened by the danger she’s faced and the precariousness of chasing fame.
