Sergei Parajanov. A Visit (1994): Cast

In November 1988 Anatoly Syrykh traveled to Tbilisi to film a documentary about Sergei Parajanov. The celebrated, weary director of “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” was unwilling to discuss his art and even barred Syrykh from recording him. Agreeing only to speak, Parajanov recounted the most painful episodes of his life, while Syrykh shifted the conversation toward the artist’s broader context and times.
