In the heat and neon of 1980s Miami, Tony Montana, Al Pacino, arrives as part of the Mariel boatlift, accompanied by his friend Manny Ribera, [Steven Bauer], and their companions, Angel Pepe Serna and Chi-Chi Ángel Salazar. The city’s shimmer hides a brutal underworld, and a powerful drug lord, Frank Lopez, Robert Loggia, offers a chance to climb the ladder in exchange for carrying out a dangerous hit against a former Fidel Castro henchman. Drawn into a high-stakes deal with Colombian dealers, Tony and Angel are seized at gunpoint; Tony survives a harrowing moment, while Angel is grievously dismembered with a chainsaw.
