Set in ancient Rome during Nero’s reign, the film follows Encolpio after his lover Gitone abandons him. He plans suicide, but an earthquake destroys his house, forcing him onto the streets. As he drifts through a decadent, dream‑like city, he encounters a series of bizarre, surreal episodes that echo Fellini’s extravagant vision of a world on the brink of collapse.
