Aadalarasu is an unemployed graduate living with his parents, Gurumoorthy and Sujatha. He is kind-hearted, yet luck rarely tilts in his favor when it comes to securing a steady job. Seeking a fresh start, [Aadalarasu] heads to Chennai for an interview and stays at the home of his father’s friend, Sivaraman. There, he crosses paths with Thilaka, the single daughter of Sivaraman, whose presence introduces a sense of possibility into Aadalarasu’s uncertain world. Gurumoorthy and Sivaraman decide to unite Aadalarasu and Thilaka in matrimony, hoping marriage would tether Aadalarasu to responsibility. Though Thilaka agrees to the alliance to honor her father’s wishes, she does not warm to Aadalarasu initially. Yet, over time, she discovers the warmth of his heart and the quiet goodness that lies behind his gentle exterior.

Feeling dejected, Aadalarasu leaves home, determined to catch a subsequent train. On the journey, he encounters his doppelganger, Thirunavukarasu, whose frail health masks a deeper struggle. Thirunavukarasu hails from a wealthy business clan, but his habitual laziness has crippled the family’s company, threatening a crucial wedding in his sister’s life and casting a shadow over the family’s future. After a drunken escapade and a near-fatal accident, Thirunavukarasu experiences a profound transformation, choosing responsibility and growth. He even marries Akalya, a bond that deepens his personal evolution. Yet a harsh truth remains: the accident has left hidden health issues that doctors failed to detect in time, and the stakes are life-or-death for him.

Thirunavukarasu keeps this truth from his family and, in a twist of fate, dies in the train. Aadalarasu’s mother passes away in sorrow, unable to bear the loss of her son, while Thilaka grapples with grief yet chooses to forge a path forward, encouraged by Gurumoorthy to seek new opportunities in the city.

In Chennai, Aadalarasu steadies the faltering business and embodies the change Thirunavukarasu once imagined. He becomes the managing director, earning the respect of the family by turning the company around. He also places Akalya at the helm of new ventures and trains her to lead, reshaping the family business for the future. A surprising meeting unfolds when Akalya encounters Thilaka, her former college classmate; Akalya extends a sympathetic offer to help Thilaka, who is navigating a difficult moment. The encounter also reveals Aadalarasu’s true identity to everyone, and Thilaka’s tears acknowledge the weight of the past and the loss she endured.

As the new era takes root, Thirunavukarasu’s surviving relatives express their gratitude to Aadalarasu for fulfilling his last wish, a testament to the strange, intertwined fates that brought Aadalarasu to this point.
