Prashant “Parshya” Kale Akash Thosar is a bright, diligent, low-caste young man whose father works as a fisherman. He shines in school, captains the local cricket team, and quietly dreams of a life beyond the narrow boundaries of his village. Archana “Archie” Patil Rinku Rajguru stands in stark contrast as the daughter of a wealthy, upper-caste landlord and politician. She is bold, academically capable, and unafraid to take control of her own path—she loves driving a tractor and a motorcycle, and she pursues her studies with a fierce sense of independence.
As they cross paths in college, a tender and improbable romance blossoms between them, built on shared intellect, mutual respect, and a growing sense of belonging that transcends the social barriers that separate them. They begin to steal moments together, learning to navigate the world as two people who refuse to let tradition define their happiness.
Their connection is tested at Archi’s younger brother Prince’s birthday celebration when their relationship is seen by Archi’s family. Her father, Tatya, reacts with anger and violence, beating Parshya and his friends. With no easy exit from a life dictated by caste and status, Archi and Parshya decide to elope, hoping to escape the pressures that bind them. Their plan is derailed when the police are alerted, leading to a cruel turn of events: Tatya manipulates the system to file a false complaint that Archi was gang-raped by Parshya and his friends. Archi, determined to protect those she loves, destroys the complaint and insists that Parshya and his friends be released. In retaliation, Tatya’s men brutalize Parshya and his friends, pushing the couple toward an impossible choice. Archi seizes a pistol in a desperate bid to force the authorities to act, and the lovers finally leap onto a moving train, leaving behind the small town for the city of Hyderabad.
In the unfamiliar urban landscape, Archi and Parshya are penniless and hungry, struggling to survive. They are turned away from a lodge and end up sleeping at the railway station, their hopes tempered by the harsh realities of life in the city. A turning point comes when a woman from a nearby slum, Suman Akka [Chhaya Kadam], who lives with her young son, intervenes and saves Archi and Parshya from a looming danger. Suman Akka offers them shelter in a spare shack and helps Archi find work in a bottling factory, while Parshya begins cooking at Akka’s dosa stall. Archi gradually learns Telugu with the help of a coworker, and she starts to feel a pang of homesickness as the city’s vastness and unfamiliar rhythms press in around her.
The couple’s bond is continually tested, but their love endures even as they confront hardship and moments of doubt. A fierce argument leads Archi to consider returning home, and Parshya, overwhelmed by fear and despair, nearly ends his life. Yet love and perseverance win the day, and Archi chooses to stay, and the two are married at the registrar’s office. Archi soon becomes pregnant, and their life begins to stabilize as they navigate new responsibilities and the responsibilities of parenthood together.
Years pass, and Parshya and Archi rebuild a life that improves in comfort and security. Archi phones her mother and passes the phone to her young son, Aakash Shivam More, a moment that underscores how far they have come. Prince [Suraj Pawar] and other relatives arrive with gifts from Archi’s mother, signaling a fragile reconciliation from the past. Aakash visits a neighbor; Archi and Parshya invite Prince and the others into their flat for tea. When Aakash returns with the neighbor, the neighbor leaves him at the doorstep and he discovers his parents lying on the floor, bloodied and hacked to death—an abrupt and devastating end that shatters the life they had built and echoes the violence lingering in the world outside their doors.
