What Is RSC Live: Coriolanus About?
The premise of RSC Live: Coriolanus without spoilers.
Set against the backdrop of the Roman Republic's early years, this production follows Caius Martius Coriolanus, a celebrated soldier grappling with leadership. His mother pushes him toward political power, but he finds it challenging to adapt and fulfill the demands of greatness. The play explores the widening divide between the wealthy and the poor in this nascent city-state, forcing Coriolanus to confront his identity and loyalties. Sope Dirisu delivers a powerful performance in this visceral interpretation of Shakespeare’s Roman play.
