Roots: The Next Generations 1979
Roots: The Next Generations is a 1979 television miniseries that continues the fictionalized saga of Alex Haley’s family from 1882 to the 1960s in Henning, Lauderdale County, Tennessee. The sequel to the 1977 series adapts the final seven chapters of Haley’s Roots: The Saga of an American Family and adds extra material. It was made with a $16.6 million budget, almost three times the original’s.
