Two streetwise allies, Thongs and Octopus, weave through a hospital’s labyrinth of corridors, dodging alarms and guards as they crack a safe and lift cash and cancer medication. In the same swirl of risk, a newborn from the wealthy Lee family is snatched by Max, the mother’s ex-boyfriend, triggering a pursuit that the guards largely overlook as they chase the burglars. In a pulse‑pounding escalator moment, Max is toppled into the crowd and dies, while the baby is saved by Thongs. As guards scramble, Thongs, Octopus, and the Landlord slip away in the Landlord’s minivan.
Months later, the Landlord discovers his flat has been burgled and his life savings vanish. He gets a call from his middleman, Uncle Seven, offering him a job: kidnapping the Lee baby for a triad boss who claims the infant is his grandson. Enticed by HK$7 million, the two associates agree to take the job without knowing the target, learning the truth only after the Landlord escapes with the baby from the Lees’ mansion. Terrified by the idea of kidnapping a baby, Thongs resistance softens but he relents when the Landlord explains his predicament. On the way to the rendezvous in Sai Kung, a police roadblock forces a crash; with the net tightening, the Landlord orders Thongs and Octopus to flee with the infant.
In the days that follow, they care for the child and begin to rethink their lives: Thongs fights the urge to gamble, while Octopus wrestles with guilt over cheating on his wife Pak Yin, who is pregnant. But both triads and police press for results. The triad boss, furious at the delay, sends men to recover the baby from Thongs’ flat. Confronted by both the triads and Police Inspector Mok, the trio hides with the infant, wary of capture, as the clock ticks and danger closes in.
Shortly after his release, the Landlord is summoned to the triad boss, who ups the reward to HK$30 million. He tracks Thongs and Octopus to the hospital where the baby is being treated for fever. The Landlord arrives with the cash, but the baby’s welfare becomes the priority for all of them. They escort the baby to the triad boss’s mansion; the Landlord is ready to meet the money, but a cry from the child triggers memories of the time they spent together. Inside, Thongs and Octopus fight their way to recover the baby while the Landlord slips away with the money. The boss, enraged, places the baby in a deep freeze room beside Max’s corpse, hoping to be with his own son, and Thongs and Octopus must confront the threat head on. Inspector Mok arrives with the Landlord and unlocks the room, allowing a frantic dash to the garage, where Thongs attempts a makeshift defibrillator powered by a car battery from a Pagani Zonda, gripping the crocodile clips with his bare hands. The rescue is tense and the baby’s heart remains fragile, but the effort reveals a stubborn resilience.
Imprisoned for kidnapping, Thongs, Octopus, and the Landlord volunteer for a mock capital punishment demonstration during an open day, hoping to apologize to their loved ones. After the demonstration, the Department of Justice reduces their sentences, and the baby is finally seen alive and well with his parents. To show their gratitude for saving the child’s life, the Lee family offers Thongs, Octopus, and the Landlord roles as bodyguard, chauffeur, and head of security respectively, signaling a hopeful new path for all of them.
