Hospital burglary and baby snatching

In a hospital corridor labyrinth, Thongs and Octopus bypass alarms and guards to crack a safe and lift cash and cancer medication. A desperate Max snatches the newborn and escapes, but Thongs and Octopus give chase. In a chaotic escalator scene, Max is toppled into the crowd and dies, and the baby is saved by Thongs. The trio escapes in the Landlord's minivan with the spoils.

Months later: burglary uncovered and a tempting kidnap offer

Months later, the Landlord discovers his flat has been burgled and his life savings vanish. A middleman, Uncle Seven, offers him a job kidnapping the Lee baby for a triad boss, promising HK$7 million. Enticed by the payout, the two associates accept the job without knowing the target until they learn the stakes later.

Target revealed: the Lee baby becomes the objective

They take the job without knowing who the target is, and the truth only comes to light after the Landlord escapes with the baby from the Lees’ mansion. The revelation raises the stakes dramatically as they realize the infant is the target. The trio must confront the consequences of their plan.

Fleeing to Sai Kung amid a police roadblock

On the way to the rendezvous in Sai Kung, a police roadblock forces a crash; the net tightens around the trio. With the danger closing in and time running out, the Landlord orders Thongs and Octopus to flee with the infant. They scramble to keep the baby safe while evading pursuing officers and triad forces.

Care for the child and inner conflict

In the days that follow, they care for the child and begin to rethink their lives: Thongs fights the urge to gamble, while Octopus wrestles with guilt over cheating on his wife Pak Yin, who is pregnant. But both triads and police press for results, amplifying the pressure to deliver the infant. The fragile balance tests their loyalty and resolve as the clock ticks.

Triad orders recovery and the chase tightens

The triad boss, furious at the delay, sends men to recover the baby from Thongs’ flat. Confronted by both the triads and police, the trio hides with the infant as the clock ticks and danger closes in. They realize capture would ruin their chance at a normal life.

Landlord secures bigger reward and pursues the trio

Shortly after his release, the Landlord is summoned to the triad boss, who ups the reward to HK$30 million. He tracks Thongs and Octopus to the hospital where the baby is being treated for fever. The trio escorts the infant to the triad boss's mansion; the Landlord is ready to meet the money, but a cry from the child triggers memories of the time they spent together.

Mansion showdown and the freezing threat

Inside the triad boss's mansion, Thongs and Octopus fight to recover the baby while the Landlord confronts the boss over the ransom. The boss, enraged, places the baby in a deep freeze room beside Max’s corpse, escalating the danger. The confrontation leaves everyone's fate hanging in the balance.

Rescue sequence and improvised defibrillator

Inspector Mok arrives with the Landlord and unlocks the room, setting up a frantic dash to the garage. Thongs makes a desperate rescue attempt, rigging a makeshift defibrillator powered by a car battery from a Pagani Zonda and gripping the crocodile clips with his bare hands. The baby’s fragile heart is saved through stubborn courage and teamwork.

Imprisonment and a test of remorse

Imprisoned for kidnapping, Thongs, Octopus, and the Landlord volunteer for a mock capital punishment demonstration during an open day, hoping to apologize to their loved ones. The display becomes a turning point as they confront their past and seek forgiveness. Their restraint and cooperation lead to a surprising shift in how they are treated by the justice system.

Sentence reduced and reunion with the baby

After the demonstration, the Department of Justice reduces their sentences, acknowledging their change in character. The baby is finally seen alive and well with his parents, bringing relief to the Lees and their allies. The trio’s future begins to look hopeful as they accept a chance at a normal life.
