Spoilers ahead
Dudley “Booger” Dawson, Curtis Armstrong, is planning to marry his Omega Mu girlfriend Jeannie Humphrey, Corinne Bohrer, but Jeannie’s wealthy father, Aaron, Joseph Bologna, stands firmly in the way. Aaron is determined to preserve a veneer of conservative, nouveau-riche prestige, and he believes Booger’s nerdy roots threaten the social order he has spent a lifetime building. From the outset, the family clashing with Booger is painted as a clash of worlds: the scrappy, endearing underdogs versus a flawless, polished image of success. The tension thickens as Aaron recruits his loathsome son-in-law Chip, Stephen Davies, the husband of Jeannie’s older sister Gaylord, Jessica Tuck, to help sabotage the wedding.
