Charles Garrison [Peter Coyote] arrives at a mortuary with a canister of Trioxin. Inside, a team of Interpol agents plans to destroy the remaining canisters to prevent another incident, but a reckless spray revives three corpses. Charles is killed in the chaos, along with the mortuary owner and a government official.

It’s Halloween, and Jenny [Jenny Mollen], with Julian [John Keefe], Cody [Cory Hardrict], and Becky [Aimee-Lynn Chadwick], the last three survivors from the previous film, are now in college and learn of Charles’s murder. Julian and Jenny search for Charles’s belongings and uncover the last two barrels of Trioxin. One of the barrels is taken to Cody, who runs tests on the chemical.

Jeremy [Cain Manoli] tastes the chemical, mistaking it for a drug like ecstasy, but he immediately convulses, foams at the mouth, and later describes the experience. The substance earns the nickname “Z” for its zombie-like effects on the living.

Cody, Jeremy, and Shelby [Maria Dinulescu] extract the chemical from the canister and convert the liquid into pills, which they pass to Skeet [Cătălin Paraschiv] to sell around the campus. Skeet urges users to take only one pill at a time, but many ignore the warning and consume multiple pills, accelerating the spread of the zombie condition.

Gino [Sorin Cociș] and Aldo Serra [Claudiu Bleonţ], the only two survivors from the film’s opening, recognize what’s happening when they see the severed head of a zombie. They confront Julian, who has some knowledge of Trioxin, but Julian refuses to reveal the location of the canisters they and Jenny found.

Soon, more people turn as the drug travels through a rave, and chaos erupts. Cody and Shelby are killed in the turmoil. Jenny kills Zombie Jeremy in a tense moment. With no other option, Aldo calls for military assistance, but learns that an American bomber plane is already en route to the rave.

The bomber drops a heavy strike on the center of the party. Jenny and Julian survive the explosion, and Aldo searches for Gino, hoping he survived. It remains unclear whether Gino made it through the blast.

In the final beat, the Tarman [Allan Trautman] lumbers toward the party, seeking a ride but finds none. After scaring away a woman who nearly offers him a lift, the monster continues on foot, shouting his grisly cry of “Brains!” as he heads into the night.
