What Is Rebellion of Japan About?
The premise of Rebellion of Japan without spoilers.
Suzuko, a woman in her twenties, has a brother targeted by communist reprisals. For more than five years she maintains a passionate affair with Tate, a young Army lieutenant, which eventually draws her into right-wing fundamentalist revolutionary activity. She later enters an arranged marriage with a man devoted to the strict discipline of Noh theatre, yet the connection with Tate remains unbearably strong.
