Ashwin and his maternal uncle lead carefree, booze-fueled lives that constantly vex their neighbors. The neighbors try a variety of schemes to rein in their antics, hoping different tactics will finally quiet the ruckus, but nothing seems to work. The tension in the quiet street builds as nights grow louder and the two men’ s hijinks escalate, leaving everyone on edge.

One neighbor, a doctor by trade, becomes smitten with Maya and longs to declare his love. Yet whenever he attempts to express his feelings, a mysterious ghost intervenes and delivers a harsh beating. Seeing an opportunity in misfortune, the doctor and a few other neighbors hatch a plan: they will engineer Ashwin to fall for Maya, and let the ghost take care of him. This cruel scheme sets off a chain of events that pulls Ashwin into a world he never invited, where love, fear, and revenge begin to blur.

After a fierce confrontation leaves him badly injured, Ashwin seeks help from a physio, and in a strange twist of fate, his budding affection for Maya is manipulated by the scheming neighbors. The plan seems to work until the ghost—unseen, relentless, and powerful—delivers another brutal setback, leaving him battered and dazed as he processes what’s happening around him.

Bhattadhri vows to strike back with a dangerous pooja, and the two men seek the help of Chakra Mahadevi to counter the threat. It soon becomes clear that both Bhattadhri and Mahadevi are not what they seem; the real guardian is, in fact, a genuine ghost protecting Maya, a truth that unsettles everyone involved.

To unravel the mystery, they consult a black magician, whose retelling includes a haunting flashback. In 1857, a British man named George Williams arrived in India, where his predatory behavior left a trail of ruined lives. The tale moves to Kerala, where Williams’ lustful ambitions fall upon Devyani Kutti, daughter of the king of black magic, Marthanda Varma. When Marthanda Varma learns of George, he commands the great Yatchi palm script and instructs Yatchi to protect his daughter. That night, George, who proposes to Devyani, is killed by Yatchi. After the British depart, Yatchi is hidden away inside an idol. This chilling backstory mirrors the present danger Maya faces and explains the ghostly protection surrounding her.

Back in the present, Maya’s father claims to possess a similar Yatchi in his house. A ritual is performed to test whether the creature is still active, and the group realizes that to end the threat they must recover the palm script from the bungalow where the Yatchi was kept. Ashwin and the others encounter a procession of hostile spirits as they race through the haunted space, but they persevere, retrieve the palm script, and ultimately overcome the ghostly presence that haunted them all along.

In the end, the ordeal culminates in a joyful and quiet finale: the wedding of Ashwin and Maya, a symbol of their perseverance and newfound peace.
