Priya 1978

Ganesh Rajinikanth is a lawyer who specializes in rescuing kidnapped people without paying ransoms, and he also works as a part-time stage actor. The story follows his calm, methodical approach to danger as he becomes entwined in a high-stakes case that tests both his ethics and his heart. When Priya Sridevi—a renowned movie star—seeks his help to free herself from a producer, Janardhan, and her domineering uncle, Kaalimuthu, Ganesh steps in not just as a guardian but as a potential ally who can shape her fate.

Priya’s plea pulls Ganesh into a volatile, international chain of events. He travels to Singapore to stand by Priya, acting as her guardian, and circumstances force him to participate in her film project. Along the way, he also encounters a personal turn of the page: he falls for Subadhra, a Malay-Tamil girl whose presence adds a new layer to his mission and loyalties. The father-to-son style protection he offers Priya puts him in direct conflict with the duo who control her life, and he confronts a web of threats from their henchmen as he strives to keep Priya safe.

The tension escalates when Priya is kidnapped, and the police soon find her dead body the next day. Ganesh presses Janardhan for answers, and Janardhan concedes the kidnapping but claims Priya escaped from his control. Kaalimuthu spins a mirror story, suggesting a similar escape. A mysterious figure then approaches Ganesh with information about Priya, but the encounter ends in a dramatic twist: Ganesh and Bharath are blindfolded and taken to a house where they discover, to their shock, that Priya is alive and being held by the kidnappers. The criminals demand a ransom of $1 million and, to complicate matters, agree to release only Ganesh.

Determined to rescue Priya, Ganesh returns to the house using audio clues he had picked up on his earlier visit. A cryptic street song—performed with his own distinctive style—helps Priya recognize the tune and pinpoint her location. What follows is a confrontation that blends wit, courage, and quick reflexes as Ganesh fights the henchmen, protects Priya, and orchestrates a reunion with Bharath. In the end, Priya is brought back safely to India, accompanied by Subadhra, while the entire ordeal reshapes the relationships around them.
