Poor Folk 2012
A-Hong and his young sister are coerced by a smuggling syndicate to cross the Myanmar/Thailand border with a group of Burmese youths, eventually arriving in the remote town of Dagudi in Northern Thailand. When his sister is taken by the gang after their mother sells her, A-Hong travels to Bangkok. There, he finds work under a tour guide, a Myanmar native who has been living in Thailand illegally for years, navigating a precarious existence.
