Rajasekhar is the loving elder stepbrother of Rajendran and Ramachandran. After his marriage, his wife Radha ousts Raja and Ramu from home while he is away. After some struggle, the two young brothers are adopted by Rahim, a Muslim. Rahim helps them start anew, and Raja, the older of the two, toils as a taxi driver to educate his brother and keep them on the right path. While on the job, he stands up to drug dealers and other wrongdoers, embodying a sense of duty and resilience. There, he meets Mary, a girl who smuggles drugs and alcohol while pretending to be pregnant. As time passes, she experiences a change of heart, and she and Raja fall in love, adding a fragile tenderness to their hard-edged world.
Ramu, whom Raja believes to be an innocent person, strays and gets mixed up with some wrong-doers. He marries a wealthy girl named Manju, but pride and lies strain their bond. Raja discovers that Ramu lied about passing an examination—he actually failed—and confronts him, signaling the start of a rift between the brothers. The tension widens as Manju’s maternal uncle, Chakravarthy, a smuggler who moves drugs using Vedachalam’s lorries, enters the frame. Vedachalam, the elder brother, is Vedachalam. Chakravarthy’s ruthless world eventually claims Vedachalam’s life, and he frames Raja for the crime, turning the sisters and brothers against each other in a drama of deception and consequence.
In the courtroom, the truth begins to unfold when the presiding judge discovers that Raja and Ramu are his long-lost brothers. He immerses himself in late-night research and returns to action as a defense lawyer to save Raja, building a case that points squarely at Chakravarthy as the real murderer. A fierce confrontation follows as Raja and Chakravarthy clash, with Raja emerging victorious. In the end, Radha confronts her earlier attitudes and offers a heartfelt apology to Raja and Ramu, highlighting themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the lasting bonds of family.
