Ben Tyler Joshua Jackson is a young elementary school English teacher living in Toronto when he learns he has an aggressive, fourth-stage cancer. The diagnosis pushes him toward one last personal quest, and an ordinary day takes a turn when he encounters an elderly man selling a 1973 Norton Commando motorcycle. Despite Samantha Pierce’s Liane Balaban disdain for motorcycles, he buys it, hoping the ride might offer a sense of freedom before the illness tightens its grip. After a quick Tim Hortons stop, he rolls up the cup’s rim to reveal only a message: “Go West Young Man.” That line becomes a quiet spark for what follows, a road-bound voyage that begins with trepidation but grows into a personal pilgrimage.
