A-side: Boss receives a late-night call from his estranged best friend, Aood, who is dying of leukemia and asks him to travel to Thailand to fulfill one last wish. Boss arrives to discover that Aood mostly wants to revisit people from his past relationships. As they embark on a road trip, Aood’s history unfolds: a string of New York romances that ended badly, largely because of his self-centered tendencies. His final girlfriend, Alice, played a pivotal role in the rift between him and Boss when Aood chose to return to Thailand with her, breaking their shared dream of opening a bar. Facing mortality, Aood seeks resolution with his former lovers, hoping to mend what he can before saying goodbye; yet most reunions dissolve into pain, and many vow never to see him again—save for Alice. In the end, Aood completes his mission and asks to visit Boss’s place for the first time, even as his health wanes.

B-side: Boss brings Aood to his family’s luxurious Pattaya hotel, a place Boss hasn’t returned to in a decade. There, Aood shares his true last wish and the reason he wants Boss back in his life. The story then moves through flashbacks that illuminate ten years earlier: Boss’s mother, Tak, remarries a wealthy widower, and the new family pushes Boss away. He meets Prim, an aspiring bartender, at a hotel bar owned by his stepfather, and their relationship begins to bloom. Tak’s push for Boss to study abroad clashes with Prim’s own dreams of moving to New York to pursue bartending. The two chase their ambitions, living in a stylish New York apartment while Prim takes a part-time job at a Thai restaurant where Aood works. Aood and Prim grow closer, bonding over a shared radio program, and Aood introduces Prim to a bar owner who promises to send her to a bartending competition in Las Vegas. Yet Boss’s insecurities rise as Prim becomes more occupied, and a trashed receipt for thousands of dollars reveals that Prim’s move to New York was funded by Tak, a revelation that deepens Boss’s sense of betrayal and ultimately leads to their breakup. Prim later returns to New York, while Aood moves back to Thailand with Alice, and Prim eventually earns recognition as a professional bartender who creates the signature Pattaya Sour, a drink named after the place where she met her soulmate. Aood’s jealousy has shaped these turns, and he withholds the truth to make Boss suffer, even giving Boss a contact for Prim’s new bar. Three months after Aood’s death, Tak leaves a final message for Boss, confessing gratitude for a glimpse of what life could be. Flashbacks show the ex-lovers moving on with their lives, and Aood’s wish that, if Boss heals, he would help rekindle Boss’s relationship with Prim. Boss returns to Thailand, finds Prim working at a seaside bar called One for the Road, and they share a quiet moment as Boss orders a Pattaya Sour. In that moment, Boss catches a glimpse of Aood in a vision, smiles, and drives off into the distance, leaving the past behind as he steps toward an uncertain future.
