Diablo, the leader of the Demons motorcycle gang, is on death row for the murder of a young woman and, during a confrontation with the victim’s sister, Gail, he stubbornly proclaims his innocence and vows to return before his electric chair sentence is carried out. A year passes, and Miami roars to life with Spring Break as the city’s pulse—bright party lights, loud music, and a swarm of carefree students. Amid the revelry, a mysterious biker rides into the scene, and something terrifying follows: a brutal method of killing that employs a lever on the back of the bike and a triggering button that delivers a shock akin to an electric chair. The first person to fall under this new terror is Ronny, a football player among the weeklong partygoers, and his death sets off a chain reaction of fear and suspicion.
As Skip and Gail team up to locate Ronny, the stakes escalate. Gail tends bar during the chaos, a small detail that positions her directly at the crossroads of the city’s wild energy and its darkest secrets. The duo quickly learns that Ronny’s death is not just a tragic accident but the subject of a cover-up by locals who should be protecting the public. The city’s police chief, Strycher, along with physician Doc Willet, are implicated in concealing Ronny’s fate to keep the Spring Break fever from cooling down. With bodies mounting and the public oblivious to the truth, Gail and Skip begin to wonder whether the man they believed to be dead—Diablo—has truly returned, or if a more chilling impostor is at work.
The tension deepens when we meet Trina, Diablo’s girlfriend, who lounges at the gang’s old hideout, headphones on and music playing as she waits. She assumes the return of Diablo is real, only to be jolted into a nightmare when a figure appears and violence erupts. Trina finds herself caught in a lethal trap when the killer rips the headphones away and wires shock her body, a slow, excruciating death that mirrors the earlier executions. The confrontation that follows between Gail and the killer takes them to a tire yard, where the truth about the killer’s identity begins to crystallize.
All clues converge on Reverend Bates, a self-styled guardian who believes Spring Break is a perfect excuse for sins and must be purged through “death by electrocution.” Bates reveals himself as the man behind the brutal electrocutions, and he even confesses to killing Gail’s sister, tying the murders to a warped moral crusade. Skip arrives just in time to stand up to Bates, and the chase erupts as they flee between parked cars and industrial debris. In the end, Bates proves a dangerous foe, leaping onto his bike only to crash on a stray tire and be electrocuted by the same electric field that claimed so many victims.
With Bates defeated and the immediate danger behind them, the last scenes pull Gail and Skip toward a new horizon. The pair decide to leave Florida behind, seeking safety and a fresh start in Ohio, where Skip hails from. The film closes on a note of uneasy relief: the immediate threat has passed, but the memory of the electric terror lingers, a stark reminder of how quickly a party town can become a battlefield between illusion and a brutal, chilling truth.
