On the eve of the wedding between David John Kottarathil, Mammootty, and Sara Eapen, Vimala Raman, two affluent planter families in Kottayam, Kerala bring their celebrations into separate corners of town. In Sara’s home, the mood is buoyant, yet a shadow lurks as her father Eapen wrestles with a painful dilemma: a phone call from his mistress Alice demanding public acknowledgment of their relationship. Eapen, a man of means and standing, worries that silence and secrecy may still safeguard his reputation. He contemplates a heavy payback—larger property, a distant bungalow—but the situation spirals beyond control when he enlists his closest ally, John Kottarathil, Captain Raju, to stand by him as the plan is hammered out.
