Nagarathil Samsara Vishayam 1991

Gopinatha Menon is an unemployed youth living off his family with dreams of becoming a film star. He loves his cousin Saritha, but their families vehemently oppose the match. To chase a shot at fame, he joins as Samson’s assistant in his role at a struggling film distribution company, Akamsha Films, run by Pappi and Krishnankutty.

On their first trip to a rural cinema hall, a box full of currency ends up in their hands when their film roll box is accidentally swapped. The pair decides to keep the fortune to themselves, but a gang of goons arrives in search of the missing money. They scramble to escape on a scooter, hiding the cash in the bushes as they slip away from danger. Their path crosses with Susan, an old acquaintance of Samson who now works as a singer at a five-star hotel the duo visits. With Susan’s help, they manage to retrieve the sack of money, only to discover that it has been swapped with the dead body of Pappi, the cinema’s projector operator.

The plot thickens as the trio is dragged into a darker chapter when Susan stabs the hotel manager who tries to assault her. With danger closing in, Susan joins them on the run, carrying Pappi’s body as they steal another car from the hotel and keep moving.

Meanwhile, Vikraman, an underground hawala agent, remains on the lookout for his box containing 40 lakhs of hawala money. He enlists his nephew Sundareshan to lead the search operation, tightening the net around the group and heightening the sense that every turn could bring a new threat or a possible stroke of luck.

As the chase unfolds, the story threads together ambition, loyalty, and the unpredictable pull of a fortune that seems to reshape the lives of everyone it touches. The balance between pursuing a dream and staying alive becomes increasingly fragile, and the boundaries between right and wrong blur as the characters navigate a web of misdirection, danger, and unexpected alliances. The film keeps the tension high with rapid twists, shifting loyalties, and moments of dark humor that underscore the precarious line between crime and survival.
