What Is Mustache About?
The premise of Mustache without spoilers.
Set in the late‑1990s in Northern California, 13‑year‑old Ilyas, a Pakistani‑American, is pulled from his comfortable Islamic private school and thrust into a public high school. The transition heightens his anxiety, especially as he feels self‑conscious about a premature, obvious mustache. Struggling to fit in, Ilyas confronts cultural expectations, bullying and the search for acceptance, learning to navigate adolescence and his identity.
