American sailor David Martens, Keith Andes, on shore leave in England, visits his brother Jack’s grave. He meets fashion designer Sally Meadows, Hazel Court, who by coincidence works with Jack’s ex-fiancée, Diane Leigh, Julia Arnall, a model.
Successful stylist Kingsley Beauchamp, Michael Gough, and financial backer and designer Madame Dupont, Patricia Jessel, own the company where Sally and Diane Leigh are employed. Expensive borrowed diamonds are to be worn by Diane Leigh when she models a new dress, but Beauchamp hires two men, Costard, Edwin Richfield, and Podd, Alfred Burke, to break into the safe after hours and steal the gems.
