In this thrilling sequel, Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham), after faking his own death, has settled into a quiet life in Rio de Janeiro, adopting the alias Mr. Santos. His peace is shattered when a mysterious woman, played by Yayaying Rhatha Phongam, approaches him during lunch. She reveals that her employer wants Bishop to return to his lethal profession, tasking him with the assassination of three individuals disguised as accidents. A deadly confrontation ensues when she brings along a cadre of assassins. As things escalate, Bishop uses quick wit and combat skills to escape, jumping onto a hang glider from a tram car.
Seeking refuge in Thailand, with the aid of his friend Mae (Michelle Yeoh), Bishop investigates the mysterious woman and learns that her employer is Riah Crain (played by Sam Hazeldine), a former childhood friend who holds a grudge against him.
While at the shore, Bishop crosses paths with a captivating woman named Gina (Jessica Alba). Later that evening, he hears her cries for help from a boat, where she is under attack. Bishop springs into action, eliminating the assailant and ensuring Gina’s safety. Their bond deepens as she shares her distressing secret—Crain has taken one of her friends and threatened the lives of children should she refuse to comply with his demands. As they grow closer, unbeknownst to them, Crain’s men are lurking nearby.
The tension mounts when Crain’s goons corner them on the beach, leading to an intense showdown. Shortly after, Bishop is summoned to meet Crain, who accuses him of abandonment during a time of need and coerces him into fulfilling his deadly mission. The first target is a warlord named Krill (Femi Elufowoju Jr.), locked in a Malaysian prison.
To execute the mission, Bishop voluntarily gets himself arrested, strategically positioning himself within the prison. Inside, he overhears a plot to kill Krill and decides to make it look like an accident by setting up a scene that portrays Krill as if he were deep in prayer when he’s ultimately eliminated. After triggering an explosive distraction, Bishop navigates his escape via the ocean.
In a desperate race against time, Crain gives Bishop a strict deadline to eliminate the next target, Adrian Cook (Toby Eddington), notorious for running an underage trafficking operation. At Cook’s luxury apartment, Bishop meticulously orchestrates an elaborate trap by sabotaging the glass pool, resulting in Cook meeting an untimely demise.
As the final target approaches, Bishop learns he must quickly kill Max Adams (Tommy Lee Jones), a billionaire owning a fleet of submarines. Surprisingly, instead of slaughtering Adams, they form an unexpected alliance. They concoct a plan where Adams fakes his own death to outsmart Crain, setting the stage for a confrontation that promises to be deadly.
In a climactic showdown, Bishop takes down Crain’s hitmen before launching an assault on Crain himself. As the peril reaches its zenith, the stakes rise even higher when they discover that Crain has rigged his boat to explode. In a desperate bid for survival, Bishop secures Gina in a chamber, allowing her to escape as he engages Crain. The brutal fight culminates with Bishop using chains to tether Crain before making a near-escapist leap just as the boat detonates, taking Crain with it.
With the chaos subsiding, Gina returns to her passion of teaching in Cambodia and pens a reassuring letter to Mae. Just when she feels a sense of calm in her life, she is taken by surprise when Bishop reappears, leading to a heartfelt reunion. Meanwhile, in a twist, Adams reviews security footage revealing that Bishop managed to escape before the explosion, prompting him to erase the evidence with a chuckle, leaving viewers wondering about Bishop’s future adventures.
