Saravanan is a gentle, well-meaning man who moves through life with a soft-spoken sense of right and wrong, earning admiration from people around him. In his neighborhood, a lively local figure named Chinna runs the Namitha Fan Club and brings a contrasting energy to the story’s small-town setting. The two paths cross when they encounter Gayathri, the daughter of the imperious and wealthy businesswoman Rajeshwari. Chinna, ever hopeful and sometimes naive, pursues his crush on Gayathri with a string of lighthearted schemes that never quite hit the mark, while Gayathri’s attention wavers between appearances and intentions.
The balance shifts the day Gayathri is saved from a dangerous accident by Saravanan, and gratitude quickly blossoms into something deeper. Gayathri finds herself drawn to his quiet courage, and what begins as a dangerous attraction blooms into a genuine romance. But Rajeshwari, who already treats family as a tool to control outcomes, sees in a marriage between Gayathri and Saravanan a way to finally bend a son-in-law to her will. She wants a son-in-law who will always bow to her wishes, ensuring that her dominion over her household remains unchallenged.
Behind Rajeshwari’s calculated plans lies a startling secret about Saravanan’s past—a past that marks him as a feared ruffian to some and a protector to others. This revelation complicates the growing bond between Saravanan and Gayathri and gives Rajeshwari ammunition to derail their union. Yet Saravanan refuses to bow to pressure, even as Rajeshwari accelerates her scheme to secure Gayathri’s hand for Aathi, the son of the formidable Devaraj. The tension escalates into a high-stakes confrontation: Saravanan challenges Rajeshwari to abduct the bride, but in a dramatic turn he ends up abducting the groom instead, throwing the wedding into chaos as Devaraj rushes to intervene.
The chaos on the wedding stage ends up marking a turning point. With Gayathri’s consent, Saravanan defies Rajeshwari once more and ties the thaali to Gayathri, publicly declaring their marriage in front of everyone. The victory, however, is only partial, as Rajeshwari swiftly brings the new couple to her home and continues to try to keep them apart. Yet Saravanan’s resolve remains unshaken, and he begins to fight for a life with Gayathri, openly challenging the old order that Rajeshwari represents.
Seeking to outmaneuver Rajeshwari and prove the power of family solidarity, Saravanan hatches a bold plan to relocate his in-laws to his own village and house them in his ancestral home. He asks for the help of his trusted friend and ally to play a key role, weaving a web that includes a convincing but fictitious persona—James Pandian—so that Rajeshwari’s opposition might be softened by appearances and perceived wealth. The aim is also to secure a suitable future for his sister, arranging a marriage with Rajeshwari’s son as part of this broader strategy. The unfolding scheme exposes Rajeshwari to humiliation and pride’s fragility, as she is forced to confront the truth that power and status cannot easily bend the hearts of those who belong to smaller, rooted worlds.
The conflicts intensify when Rajeshwari realizes the ruse and lashes out, casting a glare of scorn on the family she once sought to command. The tension culminates in a perilous showdown with a group of goons, during which Saravanan steps forward to protect his new wife, his sister, and the rest of his family. The danger is real, but Saravanan’s courage, borne of love and loyalty, sees him through and helps reconcile the families.
In the end, love, loyalty, and a commitment to family triumph over manipulation and pride. The couple’s union endures, not as a solitary romance but as a renewed bond that invites the entire family to share in a future built on trust and mutual respect. The story closes on a hopeful note, with Saravanan and Gayathri beginning their life together and a sense that, despite the challenges of power and ego, the most lasting triumphs come from standing up for what is right and choosing to build a home where love can flourish.
