Ajay Chandra, a young man with big dreams, falls for Aruna Khosla, a wealthy heiress who returns his affection. To win her hand, he pretends to be rich, enlisting the help of his friend Prakash Mariwalla, a Chartered Accountant, to secure a stylish suit, a car, and a flat—items he claims as his own. He envisions launching a galvanometer business by buying old units and refurbishing them into functional devices, with the aid of Anokhelal. But the venture draws the attention of powerful rivals—the so-called big cats—who want to profit by pushing Ajay out. They strike a harsher blow by bribing Anokhelal to withdraw support, paying him for his daughter’s wedding instead of working for Ajay. This setback sends Ajay’s life spiraling. His mother, Mrs. Chandra, must step in, handing over the insurance money to bail him out, hoping to salvage what remains. Yet, without Anokhelal on his side, Ajay cannot deliver the promised galvanometers, and a client turns to the legal route. The case lands with Aruna’s father, Mr. Khosla, who intends to teach Ajay a lesson for gaslighting his daughter and quickly takes up the matter. Ajay confesses to Aruna, but the couple faces ostracism as she is driven from her home. In a parallel turn, his mother pushes him toward hands-on repair, and when money runs short she even pawns her gold jewelry to fund progress. With tenacity and help from his friend Prakash Mariwalla, who provides a loan disguised as an order, Ajay studies the repair craft and learns to fix the galvanometer. In the courtroom, the defending lawyer, Mr. Kapoor, argues that Ajay is a victim of a broader business plot designed to use him as a scapegoat. Faced with this revelation, the prosecutor Mr. Khosla withdraws the case as the galvanometers are repaired and the client loses interest in pursuing the matter.
