Three armed men donning red tracksuits and resembling the notorious hockey players from the beloved Soviet cartoon Puck! Puck! storm into a bank located in St. Petersburg. The atmosphere inside swiftly becomes tense as they threaten the customers and urgently search for the bank manager to retrieve the safe’s keys. In a panic, the leader of the trio grabs a little girl, menacingly brandishing a weapon and demanding that the manager appear immediately. A man emerges from across the room, claiming to be the manager while showcasing the appropriate badge. This clever ruse leads to one gang member, known as Psycho and played by Anton Kuznetsov, being sent with the “manager” to the safe.

As they reach the vault, the supposed manager opens the door, revealing a horrifying sight for the gang leader—no cash in sight. Initially enraged, the robber soon discovers a hidden stash of money within a secure compartment intended for cash savings and gold. Overcome with excitement, he starts to hastily fill a cart with the loot. However, the joy is short-lived as he realizes that the man posing as the manager does not resemble the photograph on his identification badge. In a fit of panic, the impostor lunges and knocks the robber out.

Increasingly anxious due to Psycho’s long absence, the gang leader sends another crew member, Buster, to investigate. Buster enters only to discover Psycho lying unconscious on the ground. Just as he attempts to revive him, the faux manager stealthily appears from the shadows and overpowers him. Emerging from the vault, he introduces himself to a bank guard as Major Igor Grom, portrayed by a charismatic actor.

The narrative flows back to the start of the chaotic situation, where Grom is futilely trying to withdraw cash from an ATM, only to find his credit card swallowed and the machine malfunctioning. While the robbers take control of the bank, Grom is meticulously calculating how to neutralize the armed gang, genuinely aware that a confrontation could result in dire consequences for both himself and the hostages. Observing the real bank manager sneaking away, he takes advantage of the moment, adopting the man’s clothes and badge to create a diversion.

Returning to the present, the gang leader finds himself increasingly overwhelmed as panic sets in amidst the turmoil. Suddenly, a cart moves into view, revealing the subdued forms of Psycho and Buster, while Major Grom confidently strides out. With his fury mounting, the gang leader opens fire with an array of weapons, but Grom deftly finds cover behind the same ATM that previously caused him distress, coincidentally retrieving his credit card once more. The robber, now out of bullets and facing desperation, makes the choice to flee with what little cash he managed to acquire.

In a gripping pursuit, the gang leader attempts to escape in a vehicle that speeds away just as Grom exits the bank. Their high-stakes chase leads to an intersection where the getaway car collides with a garbage truck, leaving the driver severely injured. Despite this, the criminal manages to escape on foot, prompting Grom to follow him. Their showdown culminates in a violent confrontation on the stairs of a partially constructed building. Grom, demonstrating tenacity, climbs onto a statue of Poseidon, launching into a leap to land on the third floor. After a relentless chase filled with tension, Major Grom successfully apprehends the villain.

As news of the thwarted robbery spreads, Grom is celebrated on television for his heroic actions. Just before the credits roll, a brief yet foreboding scene introduces a mysterious character, the Plague Doctor—Grom’s nemesis from the comic series—who ominously lights a match and nonchalantly tosses it to the ground, setting the stage for potential future conflicts.
