Love in a Goldfish Bowl (1961): Cast & Plot

Two college friends, Tommy Sands as Gordon Slide and Toby Michaels as Blythe Holloway, come from single-parent families, and their bond is so strong that the headmaster worries they might become inseparable and upset the balance of school life.

During an Easter break, the pair retreat to Gordon’s mother’s seaside home, where their routine settles into something almost domestic. Gordon even phones Blythe’s father, Sen. Clyde Holloway, portrayed by Edward Andrews, to secure permission for Blythe to stay. This blend of affection, dependence, and growing independence shades the mood as the two young people adjust to a life away from campus rules, building trust in a space that feels like a small, self-made world.
